The Niedziałkowskis in my family became Niedzialkowski, Niedzialkoski, Niedzial, Newman, and Cosky. Some were legal name changes, others were not.

I’ve also heard of a Niedziałkowski family changing their surname to Sunday (from the Polish word for Sunday – Niedziela).
