Killa, I’m still dry. Probably because, as you know from previous posts, I’m a good shot. And as Tim alludes in his comment, if my Man woke me up with a bucket of water, he’d better duck!

Thanks for the info! Living just south of Buffalo, I was just wished a Happy Dyngus day and had to look it up. No Polish ancestors myself, but I’ve done some research on some local Polish families which has been interesting.

Very interesting post. It seems like pagan rituals have snuck in to all sorts of conventional Christian activities.

I have the feeling; however that today sneaking into girls houses with buckets of water would just get a lot of boys shot dead.

When we lived in Buffalo, NY they celebrated Dyngus Day but I don’t remember buckets of water. Instead the girls chased the boys around and hit them with pussy willows! Maybe that was in retaliation for getting soaked.
