Hello, My name is Joseph Stanley Slesinski III. My father was Joseph (Smokey) Stanley Slesinski and my grandfather was Josef S. Slesinski who came to New York City in 1892 from Bremen, Germany. I was raised in a small farming community in Florida, NY close to Goshen, NY. As far as I know my grandfather came from Kasan, Russia. I thought possibly it may have been a portion of Poland under Russian control at that point in history, not sure. Anyway, i appreciate the information you posted here and if interested I can be reached at jslesinski3@hotmail.com. Życząc Państwu długie, szczęśliwe i dostatnie życie!

Donner:

Surnames on Steroids

I like the format used for your Surname discussion. The organization flows making it easy to read what is a tremendous amount of well researched information.

I think this is an excellent how-to Surname research model and should be adopted as the standard.
