		<description><![CDATA[Grüß Gott (well, ok, you normally would open a post with that, but verbally its far more common than &quot;Guten Tag&quot;).

My grandmother&#039;s family came from Bavaria (Feldmoching) about 100 years ago (grandpa from just across the border in Austria).  My dad was very proud of his Bavarian heritage, but always pointed out that the German he spoke was &quot;hillbilly&quot; and cautioned me as to where and when I used the sayings.  I also have many cousins from grandma&#039;s side of the family that I still keep in touch with.  

So I guess it make sense that I love Munich; I&#039;ve been there several times and I think its funny that you compare Bavaria to Texas.  I never thought of it, but you&#039;re right and thanks for giving me an analogy to explain it to my friends (both American and German).
